Tips for Success
- Remember that a hard deadline will be if the bursary calls for any submission. There is plenty of time before the application deadline, so please send it early. And, as absurd as it may sound, we will not even evaluate your submission after the deadline has passed.
- Visit the organization’s or university’s website to learn more about its requirements, application procedure, and expected decision-making timeline. You may also see when it plans to announce the decision.
- Always be on the lookout for opportunities; university open houses often have a plethora of bargains; take note of them all and apply for anything that fits your criteria.
- Do not be bashful; applying for multiple bursaries simultaneously is possible.
- Spend the necessary time and energy crafting a bursary application that will leave a lasting impression on the award-making committee. Take your time with this. If you want to be sure everything goes according to plan, add a few additional days.
- Your references should be carefully selected because they will most likely be asked to provide a recommendation along with your bursary application. It is a good idea to ask those who know you well about your academic strengths and weaknesses and who can provide you with constructive criticism while praising your best qualities to be your references.
