FBN Bursary Program
FNB is a leading provider of bursaries in South Africa, supporting academically talented students with financial needs. They provide partial bursaries administered by Study Trust that cover approximately 50% of the total study fees per annum. Students who are studying in the Commerce/ Engineering/ Science fields and are majoring in the following are eligible for the bursary support:

Eligibility – FNB Bursary Requirement
To qualify for the bursary, applicants are required to meet the following eligibility requirements criteria before applying. Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens,
- Demonstrate financial need,
- Studying or intend on studying full time within one of the aforementioned undergraduate fields of study
- Demonstrate academic potential,
- Have completed their Matric or grade 12,
- Applicants applying for this bursary 2025 must be enrolled in or willing to pursue undergraduate studies only
- Students with disabilities are welcome to apply
- Preference will be given to female students, as well as learners from previously disadvantaged communities and those residing in rural areas
- Only applicants who have obtained the following marks in the June/ final examination of their Grade 12 year will be considered:
- B Com/ B Business Science:
A minimum of 60% in Mathematics
A minimum of 60% in English - Engineering:
A minimum of 60% in Mathematics
A minimum of 60% in English
A minimum of 60% in Physical Science - BSc:
A minimum of 60% in Mathematics
A minimum of 60% in English

How To Apply
Applicants will have to visit the FNB – Study Trust Bursary official website to access the application form. Download the application form, and carefully go through the details and instructions. Fill out the form accordingly and cross-check if there are any errors. Ensure the details given are correct to avoid any complications. Submit clear copies of the following required documents along with your application form:
- ID document (certified copy of)
- Grade 11 final results, if currently in Matric
- June 2018 results OR latest results if not currently studying
- Matric certificate/ results, if completed Matric (certified copy of)
- Complete tertiary academic record, if at tertiary level (certified copy of)
- Proof of admission/ provisional admission to the institution you applied at, if not currently at the tertiary level
- Curriculum Vitae
- Essay about your life (to be completed on the application form)
- 2 testimonials (1 from an educational official and 1 from a community or spiritual leader – to be completed on the application form)
- Parents/ guardians proof of income:
- if unemployed: affidavits
- if employed: latest payslips (certified copies of)
- if self-employed: affidavit declaring monthly income or latest audited financial statements (certified copies of)
- if deceased: death certificate or an affidavit (certified copies of)
- if residing with your guardian while parents are alive: guardian’s latest payslips (certified copies of)
- if parents are divorced: divorce certificate (certified copy of)
- if parents are separated: a sworn statement from one parent confirming separation

FNB Bursary Closing Date
The closing date for the FNB Bursary application for the 2025 academic year is August 31, 2024. Submit your FNB Bursary application before the deadline. Late applications will not be considered. Ensure your application is complete to increase your chances of being selected. Missing any required documents may result in disqualification.
