YouTube Black Voices Fund 2024: YouTube celebrates the many different perspectives that come together to build its unique identity. Promoting diversity among our creator and artist community is essential to maintaining an inclusive and equitable YouTube.

The #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund aims to support new stories and videos highlighting this intelligent community’s strength, enthusiasm, and creativity, particularly in areas like Black economic equality and welfare.

To help Black creators and artists succeed on YouTube, the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund will be utilized over the following three years to purchase and produce YouTube Originals material that focuses on the Black experience. This fund’s investment goal is to bring new stories that teach people about racial justice while highlighting the strength, authenticity, dignity, and joy of Black voices.

About Youtube Black Voices Fund

In 2020, YouTube launched the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund, a multi-year commitment dedicated to spotlighting and growing Black creators and music on our platform by giving them access to resources to help them thrive on YouTube.

As part of this Fund, YouTube developed the YouTube Black Voices grant program, an initiative dedicated to equipping Black creators and artists with the resources to thrive on YouTube. Our first two classes have launched short films, topped Billboard charts, been nominated for and won Grammy Awards, and so much more.

YouTube built the program to invest in presenting fresh narratives that emphasize the intellectual power, authenticity, dignity, and joy of Black voices and educate audiences about racial justice. This initiative also includes investing in the impact of our platform. Over the program, we’ve directly empowered over 500 creators and artists worldwide to support, grow, and fund their channels and content development. In addition to the Fund grantees who partner with YouTube directly, we’ll continue to support and connect with the wider global Black diaspora and communities through a wide range of programming and events.

YouTube Black Voices Fund Eligibility

The 2024 Black Voices Fund program is available for all Black creative aspirants and professionals, including artists, songwriters, producers, YouTube creators, etc.

However, this application is only available for creative individuals in select countries: Canada, the United States, Australia, Brazil United Kingdom, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya.

YouTube Black Voices Fund Requirements

Black creators who are members of the YouTube Partner Program (link is external) (creators only), and who are located in any of the eligible markets.

1. Follow the YouTube channel monetization policies.
2. These are a collection of policies and guidelines that allow you to monetize on YouTube, and compliance with them is required when you accept a partner agreement with YouTube.
3. Live in a country/region where the YouTube Partner Program is available.
4. Have no active Community Guidelines strikes on your channel.
5. You must turn on the 2-Step Verification for your Google Account.
6. Have advanced features access on YouTube.
7. You must have one active AdSense for YouTube account linked to your channel, or you must be ready to set one up in YouTube Studio if you don’t already have one (you can only create a new AdSense for YouTube account in YouTube Studio).

Once you understand what you need to join, your channel can become eligible for YPP with either Shorts or long-form videos. If you’d like us to notify you when you’re eligible, click Notify me when I’m eligible in the Earn area of YouTube Studio. You’ll get an email once you’ve met the below eligibility thresholds.

1. Get 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months, or
   2. Get 1,000 subscribers with 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days.
