Evolving Petilil With a Sun Stone

To evolve Petilil into Lilligant in the game Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you need to follow these steps:

  • Obtain a Sun Stone and move it to your satchel.
  • Ensure that Petilil is at your party.
  • Use the Sun Stone to determine which Pokémon it is compatible with.
  • Hover over Petilil with the Sun Stone and use it on the green plant Pokémon.

How to Get Sun Stones

There are three methods to obtain Sun Stones in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but only one of them is easily repeatable.

This convenient option is purchasing Sun Stones from Simona in Jubilife Village. Simona can be found between the Training Grounds and Galaxy Hall and each Sun Stone will cost 1,000 Merit Points.

You will also receive a Sun Stone as a reward for completing request #85 (At Home Under the Eaves), but this request is available later in the game, so it may not be the best option for obtaining a Sun Stone early on.

Another method of obtaining a Sun Stone is through exploring space-time distortions, where you have a small chance of finding Sun Stones on the ground among Red, Green, and Blue Shards. However, the odds of finding Sun Stones this way are quite low.

How to Get Merit Points

To accumulate Merit Points, you need to engage in exploration. This involves searching for and returning lost satchels to their rightful owners. The lost satchels are marked on your map in every location, making them easy to locate. Moreover, more and more satchels will become available over time, providing you with endless opportunities to earn Merit Points.

When you use the Lost & Found option in the menu to return the satchels, you will be rewarded with Merit Points. The amount of Merit Points you receive for each returned satchel varies between 50 and 100. Therefore, you will have to return numerous satchels before you can afford to purchase evolution items from Simona.

Reasons to Use Hisuian Lilligant

The Hisuian Lilligant differs from the regular Lilligant in several ways. Its emphasis is on physical rather than special attacking, resulting in a higher Attack stat and a lower Special Attack stat. Additionally, Hisuian Lilligant is a Grass and Fighting-type Pokémon, unlike regular Lilligant which is solely a Grass-type Pokémon.

These differences require a different approach when using Hisuian Lilligant in battle.

Hisuian Lilligant’s Grass and Fighting typing grants it five elemental weaknesses, as opposed to regular Lilligant’s four elemental weaknesses. However, this new typing also provides Hisuian Lilligant with more resistance than regular Lilligant.

Hisuian Lilligant is resistant to five types while regular Lilligant is resistant to only four. Despite the increased weaknesses, this trade-off appears to be balanced. Just keep in mind Hisuian Lilligant’s x4 weakness to Flying-type moves.
