Students typically spend an average of 30 minutes to complete Phase I of the 2024 HSF Scholar Program Application. This phase does not require essays, recommendations, or document uploads.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be of Hispanic heritage.
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA recipient.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students, and a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students.
- For the 2024-2025 academic year, make sure to enrol full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school in the US.

Procedure
HSF Scholar Application Timeline:
- January – Phase I of the application opened January 1 and closes on February 15, 2024, 5:00 PM PT.
- Late February – Evaluation of applicants. Here, the most competitive are selected as finalists.
- March 1 –Annoucement of Finalists. Submissions of essays, recommendations, transcripts, FAFSA, and other related documents follow.
- June – Annoucement of HSF scholars(this includes both funded and waitlisted scholars for funding).
- June to November – Final Document Verification (financial aid award letter, enrollment verification, and related documents)
- December – Confirmation of 10,000 HSF Scholars are confirmed after the verification process is complete.
