To upgrade Spirit Ashes, players will need to seek out a specific Non-Player Character (NPC) and gather two different types of upgrade materials. With the help of this NPC and the necessary materials, players can elevate their Spirit Ashes to new heights and dominate their opponents.

Upgrading Ashes with Roderika

To upgrade your Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring, players must seek out the only NPC capable of performing this task – Roderika. Players can find Roderika for the first time at Stormhill Shack in Limgrave, located to the right of the road past Gatefront.Upgrade Ashes Elden Ring

To interact with Roderika, players must exhaust their dialogue options. After speaking with her, players should then make their way to Stormveil Castle. Once inside, players should press on until they arrive at the hall where the Grafted Scion is located.

In the southwest corner of this hall, players will find a door. Head through it and turn left to find a pile of dead bodies guarded by two dogs. On top of this pile is an important item – the Chrysalid’s Memento. This item must be looted to progress further in upgrading your Spirit Ashes.

Once obtained, players should return to Roderika and present her with Chrysalid’s Memento. After exhausting her dialogue options once more, she will inform the player that she will be heading for the Roundtable Hold. This is where players will find her next.

It’s important to note that even if players do not give Roderika the Chrysalid’s Memento, she will still make her way to the Roundtable Hold after the player defeats Godrick and rests at a Site of Grace in Liurnia.

Once Roderika arrives at the Roundtable Hold, players must take a few additional steps to ensure that she becomes a fully-fledged Spirit-Tuner. Players must first speak to Roderika and exhaust all of her dialogue options.

Next, players must head to Master Hewg and speak with him about Roderika. During this conversation, Hewg will reveal that Roderika has a natural gift for spirit tuning. With this information, players should return to Roderika and share what Hewg told them.

Players must then go back to Hewg and inform him that Roderika wants him to watch over her. After this, players should reload the area by fast-traveling back to the Roundtable Hold. This time, Roderika will be sitting in the same hallway as Hewg and will be ready to upgrade your Spirit Ashes.

However, players must have Gloveworts on hand to complete this process.

Upgrading Spirit Ashes With Gloveworts

In Elden Ring, players are able to collect and upgrade two types of Spirit Ashes – standard and elite. These Spirit Ashes correspond to two different types of upgrade materials – Grave Gloveworts for standard Spirit Ashes and Ghost Gloveworts for elite Spirit Ashes.

Standard Spirit Ashes are typically collected from regular enemies and a few field bosses encountered during gameplay. These ashes do not have any special significance in the lore of the game.

Elite Spirit Ashes are unique and have their own distinct lore and importance in the game’s world-building. The manufacturers obtain these ashes from special characters. Some of which may be variations of enemies found in the game, but they are usually described as being different from others of their kind.

Elite Spirit Ashes is often the more valuable and noteworthy in the world of Elden Ring.
