How to lock notes on iPhone
The Notes app is handy for jotting down quick ideas, making lists, or drafting more extended notes. But if you have sensitive or confidential information stored in your Notes, you may want to consider locking them to keep them private. Fortunately, locking notes on your iPhone is a straightforward process that can be done in just a few steps.
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Open the Notes app
Step 2: Create a new note or select an existing one
Once you’re in the Notes app, create a new note by tapping the “New Note” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Alternatively, you can select an existing note that you want to lock.
Step 3: Tap the “Share” button
Once you’ve opened the note you want to lock, tap on the “Share” button in the top right corner of the screen. A square with an upward-pointing arrow represents this button.
Step 4: Tap “Lock Note”
In the Share menu, you’ll see several options for sharing your note, such as email or messaging. Scroll down until you see the “Lock Note” option and tap on it.
Step 5: Set a password.
You’ll now be prompted to set a password for your locked note. Choose a solid and unique password that you can remember but others won’t be able to guess easily. You must enter this password whenever you want to access the note.
Step 6: Add a hint (optional).
If you’re worried about forgetting your password, you can add a hint that will be displayed when you try to unlock the note. This hint should be something that only you will understand but will help jog your memory if you forget your password.
Step 7: Add additional content (optional).
Before you lock your note, you may want to add additional content such as text, images, or links. To do this, tap on the note and begin typing or adding media.

Step 9: Access locked notes
To access a locked note, tap on it in the Notes app. You’ll be prompted to enter the password you set earlier. Once you’ve entered the correct password, the note will be unlocked, and you can view its contents.
