The bursary will provide up to R 40,000 per annum, depending on the need and study program. It will cover Expenses such as registration fees
Tuition fees, study materials, and
Prescribed textbooks.

This coverage will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal in subsequent years based on academic performance.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility requirements for the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) bursary are as follows:

  • South African citizenship is mandatory.
  • Permanent residence in the Johannesburg metropolitan area is required.
  • Completion of Matric or current enrollment in Matric is necessary.
  • Pursuit or willingness to pursue an undergraduate qualification in one of the aforementioned fields of study (postgraduate qualifications are not considered).
  • The course’s duration must not be less than one year.
  • A strong academic record is essential.
  • Enrollment or willingness to enroll at a recognized tertiary university is necessary.
