DENOSA Bursary 2025 Application Form Portal Guide

DENOSA Bursary Program

The DENOSA Bursary program provides financial assistance to dedicated nurses seeking to advance their education. This one-time award is given with the aim of easing the financial burden of nurses seeking to advance their education. The bursary will be awarded to students in the following fields:

  • Bridging and Short courses
  • Community Science nursing
  • Community health nursing, geriatric nursing, and psychiatric nursing
  • Clinical Master’s Degree programme
  • Postgraduate studies at a University or Technikon

The DENOSA bursary awards are one-time donations and it is not renewable. If you want financial support, you’ll have to reapply for the bursary each year using the same application form and procedure. It’s important to remember that the bursary amounts are limited and may only cover a portion of your expenses.

Eligibility – DENOSA Bursary Requirements

To qualify for the application of the DENOSA bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a DENOSA member for at least two years. Continued membership is required throughout your studies. For more information on DENOSA membership, visit their website.
  • Be a registered nurse or midwife.
  • Have completed the required amount of post-basic work experience.
  • Be accepted into your chosen nursing program and registered with a South African educational institution.
  • For Bachelor’s degree programs, have completed at least half of the coursework.
  • For diploma programs longer than one year, have passed at least half of the coursework. (Diploma programs shorter than one year are exempt.)
  • Ensure your short course is listed with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). If not, provide a compelling explanation of how it will benefit your professional development.
  • Have completed the first year of your bridging course.

How To Apply

The DENOSA bursary 2025 application form can be downloaded and printed out. The application forms are also available at the following offices:

  • The Secretary, DENOSA Study Fund Committee, P O Box 1280, Pretoria, 0001.
  • Provincial Offices of DENOSA.

After you have gotten the form, go through the instructions carefully and fill in the requirements with the correct information. After completion, submit the form to the office of the secretary or you can email your completed form to leahr@denosa.org.za.

Applicants must attach the following documents and submit them with their completed application form:

  • A certified copy of your South African ID document.
  • Proof of tertiary registration for your chosen course. If unavailable at the time of application, make arrangements with the DENOSA secretary for later submission.
  • Proof of completed courses for post-basic undergraduate applications (on official institutional letterhead).
  • Certified copies of your latest payslips as proof of gross salary.
  • Proof of registration fee payment to your institution for the upcoming academic year.

DENOSA Bursary Closing Date

The closing date for the DENOSA Bursary 2025 application is the 31st of January, 2025. Submit your completed application form with the supporting documents on time as late applications will not be considered.
